Celebrate Your Local Favs!

At this special event, we will honor three outstanding Local First members who embody the spirit of La Plata County’s local independent businesses and nonprofits. All current Local First members are eligible to submit nominations. The awards categories are:

The Local Legend: A local, independent business that never fails to inspire us all to be great and do great!
The Rising Star: A newer local, independent business that is out of this world!
The Community Collaborator: A local, independent business or nonprofit that goes the extra mile to bring together and collaborate with their community.

In addition to celebrating the winners of the Local Indie Awards, we will enjoy local food provided by Farm to Fingers as well as Chef Safari, good music performed by the Lightweight Travelers, and a keynote address from local philanthropist Marc Katz.

Marc, co-founder and former president and CEO of Mercury Payment Systems, has been a pillar of our business community for 25 years. He and his wife, Jane, are now focusing their efforts on philanthropy to benefit our community. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear Marc share his vision for the future of Durango Mesa Park.
