Narcan and Opiod Overdose Awareness Training
Oct 25th | 10AM -12PM

Please join Visit Durango for a free Narcan and Fentanyl Awareness Training on October 25th, from 10 am to 12 pm, at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. This training is available for La Plata County hospitality workers and will be led by experts from the Southwest Drug Task Force and Advocates for Recovery Colorado.

The number of opioid and fentanyl overdoses are climbing, and La Plata County is no exception. Hospitality and restaurant workers are encouraged to come to learn how Narcan can keep you protected and save someone else's life. Narcan will also be available after the training for those who want to have it on hand at their business.

Durango locals recognized by Colorado Restaurant Association

Congrats are in order for several Durango locals after the Colorado Restaurant Association announced their 2022 Lifetime Acheivement and Industry Spolight Awards. Bill and Jim Carver, Founders of Carver Brewing Company, have been inducted into the Colorado Foodservice Hall of Fame, Seanan Culloty, Chef at Manna Soup Kitchen, is recognized as a 2022 Outstanding Regional Professional, and Roberto Delgado, El Moro Spirits & Tavern, has been awarded 2022 Bartender of the Year. Website launched to update public on River City Hall project.

The City of Durango, the Durango Fire Protection District, and the Durango Police Department have launched a new website to provide the public with up-to-date information regarding the ongoing River City Hall Project, including the first public meeting on Nov. 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 7p.m. at the Power House Science Center.
