Alpine Bank is the presenting sponsor of Stand Up for Local First. What does supporting this event mean to you, and how does it align with your mission of community involvement?

At Alpine Bank, we believe that strong, thriving local businesses are the backbone of vibrant communities. Supporting Stand Up for Local First is an incredible opportunity for us to reinforce this belief. This event not only celebrates the amazing local entrepreneurs and organizations that make Durango such a special place to live but also provides a platform to connect, collaborate, and invest in the long-term sustainability of our community. As a community bank, it aligns perfectly with our mission to champion local economic development, foster relationships, and give back to the areas we serve. Being the presenting sponsor of this event reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that local businesses continue to grow and succeed.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Alpine Bank in Durango. How has the bank’s journey in this community shaped its values and commitment to local businesses and residents?

Over the past 20 years, Alpine Bank has had the privilege of growing alongside Durango and its wonderful residents. Our journey has been shaped by the incredible people, businesses, and organizations we’ve had the chance to work with. Our values have deepened with every year, reflecting a commitment to personal service, community-driven growth, and sustainability. From helping a small business expand to supporting families with homeownership, every relationship we’ve cultivated has reinforced our commitment to being a resource for local residents and business owners alike. We’ve witnessed firsthand the resilience and spirit of Durango, and this has inspired us to be even more dedicated to helping this community thrive for the next 20 years and beyond.

As an institution that has been integral to the Durango community, can you share any impactful stories or initiatives that highlight Alpine Bank’s long-standing support for the area’s growth and prosperity?

One of my personal highlights is the free Concerts at Buckley Park during the summer. I met with Charles Leslie almost 15 years ago and we started discussing the need for a family-friendly, free concert series during the summer. At the time there was nothing like this being offered in Durango. We had both come from communities that had free summer concert series and knew the community impact it could have. Together we created the Concerts at Buckley Park. We have watched it grow from a few hundred people in the park to a few thousand packing Buckley on Thursday evenings to enjoy a picnic with family and friends and great music.

Anything I didn’t ask that you want to share?

At Alpine Bank, our commitment to community doesn’t just stop at providing banking services. We actively invest in Durango’s future by supporting environmental sustainability efforts, educational programs, and arts initiatives. We also encourage our employees to volunteer in the community, fostering a culture of giving back. Our involvement goes beyond just banking—it’s about being an engaged partner in Durango’s success. As we celebrate 20 years in the area, we look forward to many more years of collaboration, support, and growth with this amazing community. Together, we can achieve even greater things.
