Tis’ the Season of Giving!

Colorado Gives Day | December 7th, 2021

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and gathering of loved-ones, comes the end-of-year reminder to give thanks to the local organizations that are at the very core of our community. Thanks to Colorado Gives Regional Champion, Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado, you can support the local causes you care about in one easy click by visiting SWCOGives.org. Increase your impact even further and schedule your donation for Colorado Gives Day, this December 7th, and boost your favorite local non-profits’ share of the $1.6 milllion incentive fund available through Colorado Gives.

“Over the past 20 months we have seen a tremendous amount of generosity in response to various pandemic impacts — from housing and food security to animal protection, arts and culture to youth support — all sectors are seeing increased demand,” says Briggen Wrinkle, Executive Director of the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado. “We anticipate a high level of need and a high level of giving to continue throughout 2021 in support of upcoming Giving Tuesday, Colorado Gives Day and year-end appeals.”

SWCOGives.org features more than 100 regional non-profits and is a simple, safe, and secure platform for donors to make contributions online. Last year on Colorado Gives Day $50 million was donated statewide, with almost $500,000 going to nonprofits in our five-county region! This year the local giving goal is to exceed $525,000 and we bet that our community can blow that goal out of the water!

The Community Foundation encourages charitable giving that keeps dollars local. Southwest Colorado Gives is an opportunity for donors in our region to support the nonprofits that are making a difference in local communities. The site, swcogives.org, offers donors a well-vetted array of nonprofits to choose from. Scheduled donations will run from November 1 for about six weeks until Colorado Gives Day on December 7.

SW Colorado Gives is sponsored locally by First Southwest Bank and the Ballantine Family Fund.
