Local First Foundation is proud to sponsor the 4CORE Earth Day Celebration, taking place April 23rd, 11am-3pm, at Rotary Park! Join us for live music, kids activities, electric vehicle ride & drive, vendor booths, local speakers, and more!
As a community nonprofit focused on building self-reliance, sense of place, and well-being for the stakeholders of La Plata County, this Earth Day celebration is a natural extension of Local First Foundation’s sustainable values focused on the People, Prosperity, and Planet. With an emphasis on cultivating a circular economy that builds community resilience, Local First Foundation has assisted in leading the Power Local movement. This initiative seeks to keep our power production as close to home as possible. If we could produce just 10% of our power nearby that would keep $7 million a year here locally to circulate in our community.
